Ngahue report writing
Yesterday I had done my report writing about a chief, his name is Ngahue. My class had to do a report about a rangatira, but not Hineamaru because my teacher had done an example about her. We had to choose Ngahue, Kupe, Toto, Kuramarotini, Nukutawhiti, Hoturapa and Ruanui. I chose to do Ngahue because he sounds a bit interesting. I dont know whats interesting about him but he just sounds interesting. Here is my report. Enjoy

Narrative writing
Narrative writing
For the past week, my class and I have been doing work about Kupe and the wheke. What todays blogs about is my Tuhituhi mahorahora writing, which means free writing. My teacher had told us to do a story about Kupe but Narrative way. My story is about Kupe and his Journey. Whaea Toni said that we could be Hine-Te-Aparangi or Kupe, so I chose to become Hine-Te-Aparangi. Here is my work, its don below. I am not able to pusblish it to the web but I am able to post it down below. Hope you enjoy :).
Kupe and his Journey...
Kia ora, I am Hine-Te-Aparangi. I was going fishing with my husband Hoturapa and a friend, Kupe was his name. Kupe told Hoturapa to dive in the water to untangle the ropes. I was very uncomfortable with my relationship with Hoturapa, so Kupe told him to untangle ropes and Kupe left Hoturapa in the water to drown. We were on our way to look and gather some food. Kupe got his nets ready to get some fish and bait, but all he got was slime on his nets. Kupe and I discovered that the wheke was the one taking all the food, they had also spotted the wheke of Muturangi floating on the surface. Muturangi was the one causing all the trouble. Kupe could not kill it, but the next day he went to go and pay a visit to Muturangi in Kahu-kaka. Kupe told Muturangi to tell the wheke to go away or else Kupe would kill it. Kupe told Muturangi everything. Kupe and I went away to look for more food, but there was no sight of food. The wheke came along again and wrapped his long slimy tenctichals around the big waka. He yanked the waka very hard, almost tripping everyone in the water. For weeks Kupe and I followed him to where he was going. On our voyage I had seen a long white cloud and I had known that it must be land. “He Ao, he ao, he Aotearoa I then said. Kupe and I had been the first people to reach Aotearoa. We settled in and gathered some food in the Ngahere. The wheke was still on the loose. The wheke hid in a cave, as night fell Kupe waited until dawn to attack him, but the wheke got his way and escaped. The wheke was heading south. My children and I waited at Te Whanganui-a-Tara while Kupe and his people chased the wheke through Te Moana o Raukawa. Kupe finally caught the wheke. The wheke was still strong and quick all though he had been chased from the north island to the south island. The wheke grabbed the waka of Kupe and tried to flip it over. The waka started getting filled with water. The wheke had thought a man had fallen overboard. He let the waka go and grabbed the calabashes. Kupe leaned over as far as he could possibly go and smashed the wheke with his mere. It turned out that the wheke that Kupe had killed wasn’t actually a wheke. It was a challenge for Kupe to do. My dear husband had tried so hard to get this wheke off the loose. Before all this trouble had happened, Kupe had another loyal friend of his that came with him to help chase the wheke from the north island to the south island. His name was Ngahue. He is a very nice friend of Kupes. After the wheke was killed, Kupe decided to explore Aotearoa a bit before going back to Hawaikii. He and his family named most places and are still in use today. Kupe then had head back to Hawaikii to give his waka to Kupe then had decided to give his waka to his grandson Nukutawhiti. He gave his waka to him so Nukutawhiti so he could have a good safe journey from Hawaikii to Hokianga. Kupe had then been able to settle in and have a good rest.

Hello. Today I redid challenge one bc I forgot to add somethings. In this one we had to do something in New Zealand. We only choose New Zealand to be the country because there was covid-19 in the other countries, so we had to do something in New Zealand. What I mean by doing something in New Zealand we had to choose a place where we can go ( but were not actually going ), we had to do a timetable and how much everything cost. Here is mine, I hope you enjoy it.

Challenge three
Hey guys, I have another holiday challenge activities for yous to read. This one is an object one, what we had to do was right about an object, but we are the object. If you understand you will know, if you don't, you will find out. Here is my work.
A day in a life
I hate getting treated like rubbish, I just want a normal life. I always get smashed by rude people. I have multiple lives, which mean I am 10 glasses of clear cups. I don't like watching other people get treated like me, guess they know what it feels like. Look I see a beautiful shiny glass, I want to be beautiful like her. One day, I hope that a different person will come and get me and clean me like that beautiful glass.

Today I have another activity to do with the holiday program, this one we had to do "What makes Kawakawa great?". This one is a challenge because people are coming to see Kawakawa or what diferences they got compared to ours. In my writing I said that it could be the new museum that they opened up last year, or it could be the Hundertwasser toilet designs. Here is my google drawing and hope you enjoy.

Narrative scaffold
Narrative scaffold
Last week, Whaea Toni shared the whole class a Narrative scaffold. In that scaffold there were empty boxes. In those empty boxes we had to fill them out with writing. Before we had to write something, we watched a video before we started writing. The video has no sound and no song. We had to write a story or a poem about the videos we watched. The names of the videos are snack attack and the present. In there, there is the title, introduction, problem arising, problem development and resolution.

Waka Hourua T-shaped
Waka Hourua T-shaped
In Week 4 - 5. We were put in groups by Whaea Toni. So I got put into waka hourua. There are some questions there that we had to fill out. Some of the questions are, " What was the main purpose of this waka?", " What is the make up of this waka?", " What is the construction process of this waka?" and " What is the difference between waka hourua and waka taua?". I had to find some facts of the internet and put it into my literacy. After that, Wahea Toni told us all to get all our facts from our literacy and put them into our group work. On our group work we draw a waka and put all our information around the waka. Waka hourua is a double hull and waka taua isn't. Waka taua has sails and waka hourua doesn't. Thank you for reading. Have a good day :)
